A truly beautiful wood with a greater variety of figure types than any other tree. Under grading rules for Walnut more knots and defects are allowed than in other species of hardwoods and this should be considered with regards wastage. It is advisable to try to incorporate sapwood as an accepted part of the wood.

High-quality furniture, cabinetmaking and interior joinery, boat building, musical instruments, clock cases, turnery and carving. Panelling, cabinet veneers and decorative veneers.
