Western Red Cedar

Thuja plicata

One of the lightest of commercially available softwoods, non-resinous with an aromatic odour, varying in colour from dark brown to white. Excellent dimensional stability, naturally decay resistant, durable, light weight, soft textured, easy to handle. Accepts paints and stains readily, nails/pins without splitting.

Uses: Interior; joinery and panelling. Exterior; garden furniture, out-houses, building, panelling, boat building, marine projects.
